Ramblings

I admit now, I love Science Fiction. Always have, and always will.

And now I get to pass this onto my son. The joy of telling him stories about Star Wars, Dr Who, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek the list is long, because I have to tell my son a new story every night before bed. The story stars himself, but along the way, he might run into the Doctor, or some friendly jawas, Jedi knights, all who fight the good fight, because there needs to be at least one fight in the story, and lots of space ships.

I will post here, some of my thoughts and names of any good books I might find along my way. Simply because I can, and you might be interested in what a woman in her forties might be reading.

At the moment I’m channeling my inner teenage boy, and am in a Marvel and DC phase. After all I adore Whedon’s version of the Avengers at the cinema, so I’m working through my library all the comics and series I have missed. Lucky for me, my partner read widely, so I get to ask him the questions I need filled in for me…….

I’ve just finished a fantastic book by Mike Carey – The Devil You Know – finally someone who comes close to the magic and wit of Simon R. Green’s Nightside books. Loved it.

You visited my blog, so I came to visit yours! I’ve just been having a lovely read.

My son (five years old a heartbeat ago, but actually 25 now) has introduced me to webcomics. Take a look at Girl Genius, which is steampunk. This is the link to the start of the archived story. http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20021104
