It’s been a long time since I last posted. Life caught up with me and gave me one of those hard to push through stages – you know the type, when it’s just a struggle to keep up with day to day life let alone taking on additional responsibilities.

And that’s where this post is coming from – it’s all about choices.

We all have a choice. We all wake up and choose the life we lead for the day. We are the ones who control how we react to situations. We are also the ones who can choose to help those who need help.

There are a few people who choose to make life easier for others, they are always the ones who will go the extra mile, climb that mountain with you, and look after your back in the tight situations of life. They make it easier to keep on keeping on, so to speak. They make life easier.

Then you have the few who are just trouble. They take what they want, and leave you to pick up the pieces. They are also the ones who bitch, complain, and moan when life isn’t going their way, and they’re also the ones who will leave you bloody and wounded, because you’re not worth worrying about. They may call themselves all sorts of glorified titles, but we know they’re heartless to begin with, but we still get sucked in.

And then there is the vast majority, who just go on about their day to day business, not caring, not sharing, but also not wounding others. They just want to look after themselves.

So when I roll out of bed in the morning I choose to be there for people. Maybe it’s because I’ve been trained to do this, maybe it’s because I’m a woman, or maybe it’s because I know life is hard, and some situations are so very hard to deal with. I make sure I treat everyone with respect, and kindness. It’s a long life we lead, why make it harder and longer for some people?

I’ll be the one picking up the pieces from the ones who don’t care, but at least I’ll be there to help those who are being left behind everyday by society. And for all those negative naysayers – I’ll just keep my distance, and make sure I don’t let them bring me down to their level. Life is about living a joyful life, not about how many cars you manage to acquire.

Live well, and live with joy today, and everyday, and life will be easier.
