We spent this morning at my son’s primary school to be, he starts there on Monday. Today was the day he sat some literacy and numeracy tests to see where he was in his development. And I was the one full of nerves for him, but he sailed through it with the sheer confidence that comes from not knowing about tests. He loved the challenges, and though he did at times struggle with some things, he was just enjoying himself.
This beautiful carefree attitude is glorious. Imagine if we carried that into our lives, not caring if we failed, but instead we openly embraced the challenges. This is my lesson today, to just let go of my apprehensions and go with the flow, and enjoy learning for the sheer sake of it, not for what I think I should obtain from it.
Thank you my child, you’ve yet again taught your old mum another trick!
